My ALS Journey (30/n): Cippi at the CppCon

This week was very exciting for Cippi. She visited CppCon in Aurora, near Denver. My blog, Modern C++, is also celebrating a small anniversary.

CppCon

You probably know Cippi. Cippi is my deputy at C++ conferences and also an ALS ambassador.
I’m starting to get a little jealous of Cippi because she was the guest of honor at two keynotes at CppCon:

Before the competition, she attended Jason Turner’s workshop ”C++ Best Practices”.

But that wasn’t the end of Cippi’s adventure. Jason took her to the Pirate Festival.

Many thanks to Vittorio, Matt, Jason, and Chris Ryan.

You can read more about Cippi’s adventures on her blog or Instagram account.

If you would like Cippi to visit your conference, please send an email to rainer.grimm@ModernesCpp.de.

Now I come to my little anniversary.

700 Articles on Modernes C++

I was amazed to discover that I have now published 700 articles about modern C++ on my blog Modernes C++.

My blog saw the light of day nine years ago. I now have between 10,000 and 20,000 readers per day. This makes me both proud and amazed.

    Here are a few words for the historian: six months before my English blog, I started a German blog. This is also the reason why my English C++ blog has a German name. Pretty soon, I began receiving emails telling me that I should also publish my articles in English, as the automatic translation into English wasn’t good enough. Initially, two proofreaders, Alexey Elymanov and Arne Mertz, assisted me in correcting my English, as it still had considerable room for improvement. I then translated all 50 German articles into English as quickly as possible. From that point on, I have been publishing every article in German and English. The German articles now appear on Heise Developer.

    If you lose track of things in my blog, you should consult the TOC, the search function, or the tag system. In addition, each article contains a reference to similar articles.

    My goal is to break the 1000 mark. I am sure that I will not run out of material on C++.
