My ALS Journey (29/n): I feel Good
I often receive messages asking about my health and wishing me well. I am very happy to receive these messages and just want to reply: I feel good.
>> My ALS Journey so far <<
The following gives me a great deal of strength and brings me happiness.

Providing Added Value for the C++ Community
I really enjoy writing articles about C++. I take great pleasure in acquiring and imparting knowledge. That’s why I plan to update my C++ books to C++26 in the near future, write magazine articles about C++26, and write a new book about C++26.
Above all, I am delighted when I can directly impart my knowledge through mentoring. This gives me a direct sense that I still have an essential task to fulfill.
Raising Awareness for ALS

Raising awareness for ALS is very important to me. This also benefits other neurological diseases such as multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s. Unfortunately, research in this area remains severely underfunded and is consequently at a very early stage. There are two main reasons for this: firstly, neurological diseases such as ALS are not yet in the public consciousness. Second, the financial incentive for research is not as high as it is for a widespread disease such as cancer.
For this reason, I am deliberately very vocal and hope that other sufferers will also go public and not feel ashamed of their illness. In addition, I am pleased with every media appearance, such as the one with Cippi, and I initiate fundraising campaigns, including a charity run on September 28 in Rottenburg.

Support of my Family
I cannot thank my wife, Beatrix, and our two children, Julie and Marius, enough. On the one hand, they support me in my challenging health situation, and on the other hand, they provide me with the necessary support for all my endeavors. I know that I can hardly contain my boundless energy.
Thank you very much!
