{"id":8728,"date":"2023-11-17T10:26:44","date_gmt":"2023-11-17T10:26:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.modernescpp.com\/?p=8728"},"modified":"2023-11-17T10:26:44","modified_gmt":"2023-11-17T10:26:44","slug":"thank-you-for-your-support-1-n","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.modernescpp.com\/index.php\/thank-you-for-your-support-1-n\/","title":{"rendered":"Thank You for Your Support: 1\/n"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>After I wrote about my ALS illness in my post &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.modernescpp.com\/index.php\/my-very-serious-progressive-nerve-condition\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.modernescpp.com\/index.php\/my-very-serious-progressive-nerve-condition\/\">My very Serious Progressive Nerve Condition<\/a>&#8220;, I decided to make all 2 &#8211; 3 weeks a short update about my condition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I want to do this for a few reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I got so many empowering e-mails and messages. Many messages included experience reports from other people with ALS or very interesting ideas about additional treatment. Thank you for being so supportive.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>My way of fighting this illness is to do it in public. Maybe this helps to intensify research into nervous diseases.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Many people fight a similar fight, such as me. You are not alone.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I recognized that the most important part of fighting such a depressing illness is to have a strong family. I&#8217;m totally grateful for my wife Beatrix, my daughter Juliette, and my son Marius. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, I can hardly walk anymore, but my voice is not affected, and I can use my keyboard.
